Mechanical Engineer Premier Oil - Greater Jakarta Area, Indonesia

Mechanical Engineer is a member of the Premier Oil Engineering group based in Jakarta and will be involved in all aspects of mechanical engineering design, installation and optimisation. The engineering group is responsible for ensuring engineering standards and best practises are applied across the business unit in all Premier Oil’s ventures, both operated and none operated.

Specifically the role will be involved in the development of project specifications, review and approval of design and supply of static mechanical equipment (vessels and piping) for offshore production facilities, ensuring that it meets project objectives, industry standards and best practice for safety, reliability and cost, ensuring overall technical integrity of static equipment design.

The role will also assist with field installation & commissioning activities and provide technical assurance to Premier Oil’s Project Execution Team in the execution of EPCI contracts on major development projects.

As well as supporting capital projects, the role will also participate in the Engineering Change Process, ensuring asset integrity is maintained on existing operating assets and will contribute to minor Brownfield enhancement projects.

Desired Skills and Experience

Skills (and experience)
  • At least 10 years previous engineering experience preferably in the upstream oil and gas industry.
  • Working knowledge of international codes and standards (API, ASME, ANSI, ISO etc) and familiarity with at least one Oil & gas operator’s corporate standards is essential.
  • Ability to work effectively (minimal supervision) in a diverse, multidiscipline team environment.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.


Knowledge
  • High pressure gas processing experience desirable.
  • Thorough working knowledge of HSEQ policies and procedures.
  • As a minimum, must have a working knowledge of the following codes and standards:
ASME B 31.3 Piping
ASME Section VIII Div 1
API 661 Air Cooled Heat Exchanger for General Refinery Services
TEMA  Tubular Exchanger Manufacturers Association
API 662 Plate Heat Exchangers for General Refinery Services
  • Preferably the candidate should have familiarity with small pumps, packages such as water makers, Sewage treatment, chemical injection etc
  • Must have participated in HAZOPs and HAZID sessions
